In Arcadia, MO 3-year-old Joshua Childers was found safe and uninjured in the Mark Twain National Forest after being lost in the cold, wet forest for 2 days after wandering away from home. Madison County Sheriff David Lewis said searchers had been growing increasingly pessimistic about their chances of finding Joshua alive. He figured 3 days was about the limit for the boy's survival in the wild without food and water. "It's a miracle," Lewis said.
To summarize, 3 days would be the limit for the boy’s survival and hundreds were searching for him. He was found after 2 days by a searcher and it is considered a miracle. If the boy had been found after 30 days by a hiker just wandering by, then you might call it miracle, but working toward an achievable outcome and achieving the outcome is not a miracle. The word miracle is used to too freely and too much.
