Racism

Everyone acknowledges that differences in the genetic makeup of the races accounts for a particular race being more or less susceptible to certain diseases, being more or less susceptible to climate extremes, and having certain physiological and psychological differences. In fact, each race exploits its differences to its best advantage. If a race has some genetic disease, then they press for a cure for the disease, even though it only affects the one race. However, if you speak about there being intellectual differences between the races, you are called a racist. While everything else about races may vary, intellect is considered equal throughout all the races. Evolution may account for all the other differences between races but apparently evolution has no affect upon intellect.

Birds of a feather

As the old saying states,”Birds of a feather flock together.” Animals and people tend to migrate to groups with like interests; that is the way life works. Watch large groups of people who are just milling around and they will begin to form small groups composed of people with like interests. People first find their groups by looking at those with a like outward appearance, which give clues as to a person’s culture, sport interest, hobby, job, and race. Military people will congregate with those of their service, college people will congregate by fraternity or club, gang members will congregate by gang, etc. At first, some people may congregate by race, but as time goes by, they tend to refine their choices and find groups with specialized interests, regardless of race. However, some people with no specialized interests may stay with their racial groups since they tend to have the same general cultural interests. If you look closely at the groups, you will find the occasional elitist who will purposely associate with a group with whom he or she has no common interest. This person will initially show interest in the group but then begin to criticize other groups for not joining with them. This type of person thinks he or she is better than everyone else because he or she is culturally diversified, when in fact all the other groups could care less about diversification; they are content with their groups and with people in other groups. All the elitist does is draw attention to him or herself and suffer under the delusion that this makes him or her a better person.

Entertainment

Why do people pay so much to see someone else entertain them? Even during a down economy, people pay high prices for entertainment so they can make others richer. People who get rich in business are considered evil, while people who get rich as entertainers are made richer, and then excused for being rich. Oil companies who earn 3% income while producing the gasoline that makes life easier are considered evil, while Harpo, the corporation that  produces the Oprah Show, makes multimillions of dollars for Oprah, and she is considered a hero. People who produce the least get paid the most. The one who sits and talks to other entertainers gets paid millions of dollars, while the one who finds a cure for cancer gets a plaque and a pat on the back. According to Gore, the world will start to disintegrate in a few years and everything will be in chaos. When that occurs, who will be in great demand? Will it be entertainers, or those who produce what is needed for survival?

Religion

I was raised in a Southern Baptist church but, even as child, I questioned what I was being taught and what I saw and heard. One question was: why do Christians who profess to believe in life after death and going to heaven to live forever with God in love, peace, and eternal happiness do so much to avoid dying and mourn so much when a fellow Christian dies? If the person is going to a better place, it seems that everyone should be happy. It appears that Christians are selfish and want to keep their loved ones away from God as long as possible. One thing about radical Muslims, they practice what they preach. They believe in the hereafter and seek to get there was soon as possible.

Spock

As a young adult, when asked about who inspired me, I always said Mr. Spock, the half-human/half-Vulcan character in the Star Trek television series. He had human characteristics, but he was compelled to use logic and reason rather than emotions when dealing with life. He had adapted to human society and blended into it, even while having pointed ears, but he still retained his individuality.

Have Mercy

Jerry Inman, a 38-year-old sex offender in Pickens, South Carolina, plead guilty to murdering Tiffany Souers in May 2006. On 20 April 09, at his sentencing hearing before a judge, his defense attorneys argued that Inman should get life in prison, since it would be much worse for him than death because he would have deal with his guilt for the rest of his life. I don't want him to suffer so I say we should have mercy on his soul and put him out of his misery by executing him tomorrow.

Your tax money at work

California submitted a list of 57 transportation projects totaling $625 million as the first state in line to receive federal infrastructure money. The projects include $75 million to repave three miles of rough pavement on Interstate 710 in Los Angeles—that is 25 million dollars per mile.
